Our Dream - Growing our Club Center to Match the Need !!

Due to the great participation in our community activities and our Boys and Girls Club here at Pueblo Bonito, we are bursting at the seams.   Maybe you have heard about the great opportunities for learning and growing being offered to Pueblo Bonito children by Boys and Girls Club here.

The bottom line is - we are making a BIG difference in the lives of these children ... and their families.

Our Value Proposition

Not only does our Boys and Girls Club benefit our children here and now but the value to the larger community has been demonstrated.

Our Challenge

We have about 80-90 kids, aged 8 to 17 in our club as we speak.  And, the present community building where most of the action is can only hold about 65 people at a time... So, we rotate the children from outdoors - to computer lab - to community building meeting room every day we're open.

Right now we have 130-140 young people who COULD participate in our daily programs IF we had the room.  So......

Our Plan

Pueblo Bonito is completely built out with three phases providing homes for 130 families.  The good news is, we have adequate property remaining to do the following:

  • We have sufficient land remaining to allow an expansion of our community building by over 1800 sq.ft.

  • Furnish the interior of both spaces so maximize storage, teaching props and mulity media areas.

What Will This Do?

Our planned expansion will mean we will be able to accomodate up to 130+ children at one time!!!

By utilizing the increased space we will be able to serve most or all of eligible children.  Participation at Pueblo Bonito B&GC is about 85-90% of enrolled children and is one of the top Clubs in attendance.

We can provide these deserving kids quality educational, recreational, and social opportunities...

... all without having to shuffle the kids in and out of the building.

What Will This Require?

The current budget for our expansion plan including interior furnishings, computer/media equipment, etc is in the neighborhood of $250,000 to $300,000.

We want to our grateful acknowledgement to the City of Bonita Springs who has awarded us a Community Development Block grant in the amount of $125,000 to help support our project.  Thanks!!

What Will It Look Like?

Just follow this link to our concept drawings which are almost finalized as of June 1, 2017.
